A tradie who ended up teaching people to drive
Stuart started out in a trade. He spent five years mentoring apprentices, which is where he learned that most people pick things up faster when you show them first and explain it plainly.
He then spent ten years in motorsport driver training. That's where his focus on car control comes from: where your eyes go, how you brake, and how a car behaves when you ask too much of it.
He started DriveSafe in 2022 to teach learners in Adelaide's north. He holds a Certificate IV in Transport and Logistics, the national qualification for driving instructors, and he's a member of the DTASA.
When he's not in the car, he's with his family or out walking his Boxer.

What happens in a lesson with Stuart
Every lesson, 60, 90 or 120 minutes, follows the same four parts.
- Planned around where you're up to
Each lesson picks up from the last one. Nothing gets repeated for the sake of it. - Shown first, then your turn
Stuart demonstrates the tricky bits, like a reverse park or a right turn across traffic, then you have a go. - Straight feedback at the end
What went well, what still needs work, and what to fix first. - A plan for your home practice
So your logbook hours with family go towards the skills you still need.
